Castillo Iznajar stands on a high ridge towering over it's pretty town and almost surrounded by Iznajar Reservoir.
It was built in the 8th century, possibly on a Roman or Visigoth fortification and was originally under the rule of Cordova, eventually falling to the might of the Catholic Forces in 1434.
