This impression, taken from inside the Puerta de Malaga, shows the southern walls of the castle of Alhama. The tower nearest was built by the Catholic Monarchs after the city was taken by them, as this is where they scaled the walls, it was deemed a week spot. The cross on the horizon Mark's the spot where the Catholic Forces awaited for the walls to be scaled and is still there to this day.
The fields below have long since been built upon as the town began to expand in the 17th century.
